The Giraffe at work

This is just a short post to confirm that the mixer and hoist worked well during it's initial trial today. There are a few small bugs that need fixing but other than that it mixes well, loads into the hopper with a bit of spillage (that will be fixed), lifts over 3.6m without any trouble, has a reach of 600mm into the centre of the forms and dumps the load with a small pull on the release cable. Below are a few short clips to show how it will work. The pan mixer itself will be loaded by a conveyor belt which in turn will be loaded using wheelbarrows. This will be fairly quick and painless and the wheelbarrows, each a standard volume will make the replicating the correct recipe of sand, stone, lime and water quite a simple task.
